Mark Prayer Items as Private

Sometimes you may use your Bible software in a public place like an office with co-workers or an airplane and you may not want others to see all of your prayer requests. Libronix allows you to mark any prayer item as Private and then hide the Private items.

Here’s how to mark prayer items as Private:

  • Choose File | Open to open an existing Prayer List
  • Double click one of the prayer items to open the Edit Prayer Item window
  • Check the Private box
  • Click OK

Here’s how to hide / show the Private prayer items:

  • Open a Prayer List and make sure it is the active window by clicking anywhere in the window
  • Choose View | Private Items

This feature toggles the Private items on and off in the Prayer List itself and also on the Home Page.

Create a Category in a Prayer List

As you have read from a previous post you can add as many Prayer Items to a Prayer List as you desire. Obviously it will not take long before a request may get lost among the many. One way to keep track of numerous requests is to organize them into Categories such as Family, Church, Missionaries, Government, etc.

Here’s how to create and use a Category in a Prayer List:

  • Choose File | Open to open an existing Prayer List
  • From the drop down Category list select Edit Categories
  • Click New
  • Type a Name for category such as Family or Church
  • Click OK
  • Repeat these steps for additional categories
  • Click OK

To place an existing prayer item in a different Category:

  • Select All from the drop down Category list to display all of the prayer items
  • Double click the prayer item you wish to file in a Category
  • On the Edit Prayer Item window select a Category from the drop down list
  • Click OK

To view only prayer items in a certain Category in the Prayer List:

  • On the Prayer List select the drop down Category list
  • Click the desired category to display

Create a Prayer List

Many Christians testify that one of their most helpful disciplines is keeping a daily prayer journal in which prayer requests and answers are recorded. Libronix allows us to do the same by creating and maintaining electronic Prayer Lists. For the next few posts I’ll acquaint you with how to create, customize, and utilize these Prayer Lists.

Today we’ll focus on creating a new Prayer List and adding requests to it.

  • Choose File | New
  • Select Prayer List
  • Type a Name for the document
  • Click OK to create and open the new Prayer List
  • Click New Prayer to add an item to the list
  • Type a Name for the item such as Pastor or President
  • In the Note box type the specific request(s) such as preach in the power of the Holy Spirit or wisdom to lead the nation
  • Make sure the Status is set to Active
  • Select a Category in which to “file” the request (a future post will discuss creating new categories)
  • On the Repeat line click the link to indicate how often you wish to pray for this item
  • Click OK
  • Repeat these steps to add additional items

To open this or any Prayer List:

  • Choose File | Open
  • Select Prayer List
  • Select the name of the Prayer List to open
  • Click OK
