Definitions in the Information Window

This is the latest installment of blogs relating to the Information Window (IW) which displays information associated with the word on which the mouse is hovering. When using the IW with a Hebrew or Greek Bible including the Reverse Interlinear as well the KJV and NASB (95 Update), the IW will display the definition of the original Hebrew or Greek word. The really good news is you get to pick which resources are being used for the definitions.

To make your selections:

  • Choose Tools | Options | Bible Tools
  • Select Prefrred Books
  • In the Information Window section you will select one at a time the Data Types Hebrew, Greek, Hebrew Strong's Number, and Greek Strong's Number
  • For each of the above Data Types select a resource in the section Show a definition from the following resource: I encourage you to use the option Specific Resource and then make your selection from the drop down list.

Now when you use the IW, the definitions that appear will come from the resources you indicted here.

Comments

I think that I have followed your instructions, but I don't see the definition, only the grammatical info.

Does this work with the NA27? I would really like the program to give a pop-up definition for words with the NA27, but I can't seem to get it to do so. I have SLG.
