Topical Note File

As you're studying various people and places throughout the Bible you can in essence create your own "Bible dictionary" with the help of a note file.

  • First, create a note file by choosing File | New. Name the file something like My Bible Dictionary.
  • Now open a dictionary like Easton's Bible Dictionary. Go to the article about Paul.
  • Right click anywhere within the article.
  • From the right menu select Add a Note | Add a Note to My Bible Dictionary | Add a Note to Paul.

Notice a note named Paul has been added to the file and a note indicator has been placed in Easton's Bible Dictionary. You can go to any article about Paul in any dictionary and the indicator appears. Click it and your note about Paul opens. Repeat these steps for every topic you study and fairly soon you'll have an extensive topical note file.

  • First, select or highlight a range of verses like Luke 15: 1-7.
  • Now right click on the selection.
  • From the right menu select Add a Note | Add a Note to your Note File | Add a Note to Luke 15:1- 8

Notice a Note entitled Luke 15:1-8 has been added to your Note File. It is now ready for you to type, copy / paste, or drag / drop your note text.

Search Target Window

Each time you execute a search, the results are placed in a new Search Results window. In other words if you execute 5 searches then you’ll have 5 Search Results windows open.

To help manage your screen you may not want that many Search Results windows open. You can actually limit the number to one if you desire.

When a Search Results window opens click the Search Target icon (bull’s eye) on its toolbar. With this window open and the icon clicked the next search you execute will erase the existing results and place the new results in their place.

Special Bible Search Ranges

With the Bible Search dialog you can limit the search to any amount of Scripture you desire. From the Search menu open the Bible Search dialog. From the Range drop down list you can select any predefined range you desire.

What if however you just want to search Psalms or Daniel or Galatians? They don’t show up in the Range list. No problem. To the right of the Range list is a box. Just type in this box whatever range you like. You can of course use abbreviations. Type: Ps for Psalms. Dan for Daniel. Gal for Galatians. Now notice the Range drop down list says Special because this a special range you created just for this search.

Keystroke for Reference Browser

In the back of many Christian books is a Scripture reference index. You know how it works. Look up a verse like Isaiah 50.4 and the index tells you every time that verse is mentioned in the book. The Reference Browser in Libronix is the electronic Scripture reference index for any book or combination of books. Search any book you want for every occurrence of any Biblical reference. You can open this fantastic feature from the Go menu, but I encourage you to memorize the keystroke shortcut: Ctrl + R. R for reference. This keystroke places the browser right at your fingertips any time you need it.
