Using Resource Links

All throughout Libronix e-books you'll see red Resource Links. These are hyperlinks to related articles in the same or even different books. For example, open the New Bible Dictionary to the article about Barnabas. In the second paragraph notice the red Resource Link to Apostle. Click it and the dictionary jumps there. If you'd like to open the article in another copy of the book simply hold down the Shift key when you click the link!

Change the Print Size for Your Whole Library

If you're like I am, large print books become more and more helpful with each passing day. You can use the Zoom icon on the main toolbar to change the print size of each book one at a time. If, however, you need a large print library, you may want to change the default print size. Choose Tools | Options | General. Select Text Display. Select your desired (or needed) Default Zoom!

Finding all Articles about a Topic in one Book

Sometimes it's possible to locate additional articles about a specific subject without having to execute a search. For example, open the Logos Deluxe Map Set. Type Corinth in the Current Reference box and press Enter. A map about Corinth opens. Now press the Reference Locations arrow to the right of the box. A list of all the maps containing Corinth appears! Click one and you're there. Look for the Reference Locations arrow in other books especially topically indexed books like dictionaries. This can be a real time saver.

Searching Non-Versified Books

Libronix contains some great "commentary like" books that aren't versified, which means they won't show up in the list of commentaries on the Passage Guide or in Parallel Resources when a commentary is open. Among these books are Hard Sayings of the Bible, Difficulties in the Bibles, and The Training of the Twelve. They contain excellent insights but you have to know how to find them. Try this trick. First create a collection of these non-versified books. Choose Tools | Library Management | Define Collections. Click New. Name the Collection Non -Versified Books. Add the books I listed along with any others you desire. Click OK. Open the Reference Browser from the Go menu. Set the In box to Non-Versified Books. Set the Type to Bible. Type a Bible passage in the Find box like Matthew 12.40. Click Search to see a list of every place the passage is discussed in the non-versified books!

Topically Searching the Early Church Fathers

Did you know you can search the Early Church Fathers by topic? The developers of the electronic version of this set tagged each volume with topics! This means if you want to find out what the patriarchs of the early church thought about a subject you don't have to do a word search and then wade through thousands of hits. Instead you can search by topic and jump right to a location where your subject is discussed in depth. Here's how to take advantage of the developers hard work. First, create a collection for the Early Church Fathers. Choose Tools | Library Management | Define Collections. Click New. Name the collection Early Church Fathers. Type fathers in the find box. When the list appears click on the first volume and press the Enter key. The selection moves down the list. Continue pressing the Enter key until all volumes have been added. Click OK. Open the Topic Browser from the Go menu. Set the In box to the Early Church Fathers. Type a subject like kingdom in the Find box and click Search. When the list of Topics appears, select one like kingdom of God and all the places the church fathers discussed, that subject will display. Click one of the articles to jump right to that spot!

Adding Books to Collections and Associations

When you create Collections or Resource Associations from Tools | Library Management you have to add each book individually to the group. Normally you would add the book by clicking its title and then clicking Add. This can be tedious if you're adding numerous books that are listed one right after the other, like books from the same author or in the same commentary set. Instead of using the Add button just press the Enter key on the keyboard. Your selected title will be added to the group and the selection moves down to the next book on the list.
